Cory is sick
If you’re from the Philippines, you’ve probably heard the news that former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino was diagnosed with colon cancer.
My heart goes out to her family. It’s not because of her status as former president and Ninoy’s widow — even the rich and famous are not spared from getting sick. It’s because I know from personal experience how difficult a journey living with cancer is for both the patient and his/her family. There are crucial and difficult choices to make. There is the difficulty of trying to prepare for whatever might be, while trying to keep hopes high.
This is a family crisis. But whatever would not destroy them would make them stronger. They’ve been through a lot and I’m sure their family can weather this one.
