It’s Tax Time!
Here in the Philippines, it’s the time to file our annual income tax return. I still have to submit some papers to my accountant so that she can help me with my ITR.
It’s just a bummer that you realize you pay taxes but you don’t actually feel the benefits. I’m sending my son to private school because I don’t really like the way the public school system has deterioted. We have ourselves admitted to private hospitals most of the time because the public hospitals, although they may have good doctors, also lack modern facilities. We endure traffic and potholes while on the road. Now prices of fuel, rice and other basic commodities are rising and my income isn’t. There’s even a looming rice shortage!
Oh well, I still have to do my part and pay my taxes, and hope that the bulk of it goes to public service rather than to just somebody’s pocket!

naku… my first 3 confinements happened during my pregnancy… kaloka… but i also really hope that next time i’m in the hospital, its only to give birth again
and syempre off topic yan sa post na ito
pero para isahan na lang…
tax time is something i really dont miss… and i have yet to see where the 30% they got from me went to…

Tax time is definitely not my favorite time because I have to complete forms but I always remember to be thankful I earnt money that needed taxing in the first place!

Hay, taxes! Kelan ko pa kaya mararamdaman yan?

Diane Corriette — You’re right! At least I did earn money, otherwise I wouldn’t have been taxed in the first place! I just wish we had better public facilities here in the Philippines, since I did pay for them!
